Work with the RPF coordinator

A coordinator is a service that creates and monitors jobs, and assigns work to the supervisors. A coordinator processes communications between the application and the RPF database, which includes supervisors and workers. As supervisors become available, the coordinator distributes discrete quantities of work to each supervisor. The supervisor then distributes subtasks to its various workers. The coordinator also stores the RPF workers. The supervisor needs access to the RPF worker shared storage location.

Note: The application allows one coordinator per portal.

After installing the application, provide the coordinator settings to connect the coordinator to the RPF. You can edit these settings later. To edit the coordinator settings, you need the coordinator account user name and password. Only system administrators can add or edit RPF coordinator settings.

Caution: Change coordinator settings only when necessary, because changes can affect application performance.

To add or edit the RPF coordinator settings:

On the Portal Home page, under Portal Management, click Settings.

In the navigation pane, click RPF Coordinator.

In the URL box, type or edit a path to the computer that is running the coordinator.

The URL can be a load-balanced address if you run a load-balanced coordinator.

In the User name box, type the domain and account name to use for this portal, for example, Domain\AccountUserName.

In the Password box, type the administrator password for the account.

Click Save.
